This July 2nd - Restore Our Freedom, Declare Independence
| Time | Saturday, July 2 · 12:00am - 3:00am |

| More Info | Most people know that July 4th is Independence Day. This is the day when the Declaration of Independence were signed and adopted. What many people tend to forget is that Independence was voted on two days before on the 2nd. Over the years many people, and the government have also forgotten another principle of that holiday..... We The People..... Our nations was founded to prevent the "ruling" class or party to have control over the lives of its citizens. We were not to be 'subjects' as we were under the crown and Britain. Sadly over the years government has grown, and We the people have lost much of our freedom and Independence that was voted for 235 years ago. This year we will show the government, and the world that America is a free country and its citizens can choose a leader that supports our founding principles and Constitution. www.ThisJuly2nd.com |

Fridays...are better. So I'm told.
We've rescheduled and confirm the Meetup date to FRIDAY, 25th March instead of Thursday, 24th; following the idea that its easier to attend a social on the heels of the weekend than it is, emerging from the grind of mid-week, on Thursday.
We'll continue look into the best time and venue to maximize turnout for next Afterwork Social + Political Workgroup. NYCIR's meetup will convene quarterly to suit our members' busy lives.
This will allow us time to effectively implement our 2011 Voter Outreach and Political Literacy program. For those interested in meeting on a more regular basis, NYCIR will be co-opting the afterwork socials of other Meetups.
In any case, there will be no shortage of things for you to do or people to meet at NYCIR.

Basically, at the meetup we would introduce ourselves and talk about the books. The meet-ups will be in different venues in the Manhattan area. Should definitely make for interesting discussions! :)
